Title: Great smart plug to go with echo!
Review: So Iâm kind of new to the amazon device family. We just got our echo a few months ago. Iâve been a prime member for over 10 years so Iâm familiar with how amazon has changed life as we knew it (for me anyway). I saw the amazon smart plug when I was searching for any brand smart plug that had Alexa control with it. Itâs been in my cart saved for later for at least a month! I finally decided to just pre order it so that I could review it and hopefully help other people that are like me and have fallen way behind in the tech field. For reference Iâm an almost 34 year old mom of 2. This means that my 8 year old stole my iPad, iMac, and I havenât had a computer of my own in about 4 years! So I do everything from my iPhone. Iâve had some weird issues with our echo and my Alexa app that it will just randomly pause a song so Iâm not sure what that is about.ANYWAY! I received my new amazon smart plug the day it was released (so glad itâs not like a new iPhone or PlayStation where people camp out ahead of time or do people still do this??). It was easier than I expected but harder than was described in the listing because my Alexa didnât just recognize it.Setup:Since my Alexa didnât recognize it on its own, I had to unplug the smart plug and quickly scan the code on the back of the plug, then plug it back in fast so that when it scanned for it it would see it plugged in. After that it was very simple. I was able to plug in my baby monitor and then tell Alexa to âturn off plug oneâ and it turned off! It is so cool!Future:I think homes will end up being built with these right into the electrical system. Maybe they already are.Comparing:With so many different brands offering smart plugs with Alexa integration I canât see myself buying any more than 1 for $25. Too many are 2 for $20. While itâs nice to have the amazon support backing this up, I just canât afford to fill my home with them at such a high cost comparative to other brands that do the same exact thing.Overall:If you can afford to fill your plugs with these then do! This smart plug is easy and awesome! But if youâre on a tight budget like I am, I would try a different brand first and see if those will work just as well.Every time I purchase something online, I always check the reviews. I count on others to help me choose the best option. Review: Love my Amazon gadgets,Works well for non smart items. Can set timers and routines. I use them for holiday lights. With the app, easy to verify if they are on or off and easy to control from the app.Other products require their own apps, truly like the fact it works with my Alexia App.

Title: Incredibly user friendly
Review: We were using tp- link in our home to control 4 lights. The set up was not straight forward, but with some patience they were functional. During that time we installed a ceiling fan w/a light. The next day the fan and light would cycle off and on during use. Opened all the electrical boxes, and check all the connections.Hired an electrician and he checked all the wiring, couldnât find the problem.This goes on for 3 years until I figure it might be the tp-link wireless. Bought 4 smart plugs from Amazon, incredibly easy to install, work great and donât interfere with our ceiling fan!

Title: Works Great, But Interferes with Streaming
Review: The Amazon Smart Plug is a good product. It works great at controlling the lights in my condo. I love it. BUT…..the Smart Plug interferes with the streaming function of my 4K HD television. I set up two smart plugs near my TV, which was followed by either loss of the streaming signal entirely or snowy reception. At first I thought it was my router and I almost bought a new, expensive and more powerful router. I’m glad I didn’t, because the solution was simple. I just unplugged the two smart plugs and my streaming capability was restored. A third smart plug, about 15 feet from the TV, does not disrupt the signal. DO NOT set up smart plugs in close proximity to your TV!
